Jensen was born in Albury, New South Wales,[1] but has lived in Canberra for most of her life. She started out performing music with an acoustic trio around Canberra where she lived at the time. Before entering the Australian Idol competition she was a university student at University of Canberra studying Economics and Management.[1][2]
After being turned back from her first audition for Australian Idol in her hometown of Canberra, she travelled to Sydney to try again. This time she got her chance to perform in the first round of Australian Idol in Sydney.
In September 2006 Jensen independently released her first single, the Alive EP, which debuted at #20 on the ARIA Charts and #2 on the AIR Charts where it sustained a Top 15 position for 7 consecutive weeks. Her self-funded and self-penned debut album, Note to Self was released under her own newly-formed record label, White Dove Music. She promoted it by playing live around Australia and the Middle East.
Jensen has provided support for Jenny Morris, Michael Spiby and Christine Anu. She also visited Iraq in 2005 joining Angry Anderson, Beccy Cole, Bessie Bardot and former Vietnam-era performer "Little Pattie" in the fourth "Tour de Force" concert tour for Australia's troops based in the Middle East.
In March 2010, Jensen co-founded alternative pop/rock band Seasons with drummer Pete Wright and guitarist Sam Young. The band released their debut EP "A Moment of Clarity" on April 15, 2011.
